TV Show - Happy Camp

     “Happy Camp” is a popular TV show in china. This show has showed for 15 years. And it is becoming more and more famous. It is a very funny show and it makes viewers laugh. It will let us know about new movies and soap opera. At the same time, it invites main actors and actresses to review them. I think “Happy Camp” is a typical and comedy TV show in China.

     In our glog, it shows us what pop culture and high culture are. We used several picture to describe both culture. Different countries have different popular culture, like star bucks, most American know what it is, that is a kind of American culture. If you ask me, I like pop culture or high culture, I would ask, of course pop culture because our lives are connecting with pop culture. When we are studying popular culture, we can know who we are and what our cultural identity is. Although I was born in china, I am in America now. I have to study American popular culture, so I could fit in this country easily.

Technology - My Besta

    

     After I came to the U.S., I cannot live without my Besta. My Besta which is a E-dictionary have accompanied me on my ESL trip. Sometimes, when teachers were talking a topic, but I did not understand the main words, I felt very confused. Although I asked the teacher who translated in English, I could not comprehend text. Therefore, I used my Besta to translate it in Chinese, and I could understand completely. Besta is like my best friend that supports me to study English all the time. It is the importance of technology in my life.

   I never knew that a litter boy could perform so wonderful before I watched “Hugo”. Even though the main actor, Asa Butterfield, is just 14 years old, you will surprise what you see. His eyes look like they can speak. The plot and the script are excellent. When Hugo said, “Everything has a purpose, even machines. If you lose your purpose, it is like you are broken” in the movie. I wonder what my purpose is.

     This movie was talking about Forrest Gump who was growing up with his mother and his only one friend whose name was Jenny. He was different from other children because his IQ was 75. He could not walk and run normal and he used some machines to support his legs. Others people always laughed at him, but he never minded.  I recommend this movie because it really showed me nothing is impossible. If you have hopes, pay your all attention in doing the things, and never give up, you can make a wonder happen. It also taught me that never mind how the others think about you, just insist you belief to do what you should do.

Music-Beyond

    
     Do you know what Beyond is? Beyond is a rock band, and it is my favorite musical group. I was growing up with listening to Beyond's songs. My famous song is "Boundless Oceans Vast Skies" from Beyond. This song is a inspirational song. My favorite type of music is Rock music because it is free style and passionate music. I think no every band calls Beyond, no every sound calls music.

Reading-Do I Look Like Public Enemy Number One?

    

     I chose “Do I Look Like Public Enemy Number One?” because the topic attracted me. I thought about racism and that not every Arabs are terrorists. I realized that Arabs in America have a hard life. In the reading, the thing that shocked me the most what that even the teachers made fun of Ali just because she was Arabic. I found out that racism dose not just come from appearance, also from names. I thought the author was upset about this.

Culture Identity

      This is my Chinese pop culture poster. In my poster, there are pictures of famous tourist spots, Chinese hobbies, yummy food, and traditional ceremony. Out of all the pictures, my favorite one is the traditional Chinese marriage ceremony. In china, the color red means joyful, happy, and luck. So in china, the new couples have to wear the red color clothes. I like the traditional Chinese pop culture. The tradition should be continuing throughout many more generation.
